Opening Closets, Emptying Drawers
Jan. 7, 2009
I start with my clothing and begin to make piles. What to keep gets packed, what to donate is placed in large trash bags, worn out garments are trashed. It feels great to clean out every drawer and closet. It’s easier than I thought it would be to let go of garments that no longer fit, and items that no longer suit my taste.
I have no trouble letting go of the black straight legged jeans that pinch too tightly at my waist, the recipe books that aren’t healthy enough, the unworn jewelry, or the 35 mm Nikon that was replaced by a digital one. I actually enjoy the dumping, tossing and discarding process. It’s a piece of cake to let go of most things and even easier when they belong to Robert rather than me. I feel lighter already!
