Spinning

Jan. 18, 2009

It’s much better to spin my thoughts on paper than to create chaos in the world. When I am feeling ungrounded, I am learning to stop and BREATHE.  I set my emotions aside and make a list of what to bring into my new life and what to leave behind.  It’s all very rational and practical. I consider my new space and what will fit. I consider the life I am moving toward and how I envision it. I remember my objective is to focus only on what I want and to LIVE LIGHTLY!

I call my friend Judy in California.

“I would be worried about you if you weren’t feeling those feelings” she says reassuringly. “It’s a lot to move 3000 miles across country.”  I tell her that I trust that everything will work out for the best; my dilemma is in putting the past to rest.  She listens and tells me that no matter what I choose to take or leave behind, the objects are unimportant, good or bad the people and experiences from my past are a part of me. So take what I like and leave the rest, the choices of what to bring forward are mine to make.”  Her words give me comfort and clarity.

After a hot bath, I take it easy, relax in bed, read and allow myself to just be.
