Preparing for Travel
Jan. 24th
At the vet’s office to make our cats ready for plane travel, I inform the receptionist we are moving to CA in about a week. “Why are you moving she asks?”To start a new life,” I reply. “Do you have jobs and family there?” “No, a close friend, an idea for the business we feel passionate to develop and a plan to create the new life we envision.
A smile crosses her face. “Wow, I wish I could do that. I’d love to live some place warmer so I could be outdoors more, I’d love to start my life over. But, but, but, but, but. . . .
She says “I wish you the best of luck. We will miss you here. I admire you for going for it”.
I reply, “You know you can do this too, it’s your life and your choices that make it what you want it to be.” She looks at me like I’m nuts. “Just don’t wait too long I tell her, time is the one commodity we can’t buy back.”
“I’ll remember that,” she says as she waves good-bye with a smile. I hope for her sake she does.
