There is Magic in Letting Go

Jan. 28th.

Spending a lot of time today, still sorting and discarding old files. Had very little sleep and pushing too hard, but the movers are coming in just a few days. Don’t want to keep taking this stuff from place to place. It’s time to finally look through it all and take only what I really need.

The UPS man comes to pick up a few boxes.  Off the cuff, I ask him if he knows anyone who can use the drafting table and chair. It turns out his wife works at a local school that has an art dept. After a few calls he loads the table into his truck. Everyone is happy and I can imagine the young art students working at my old table. Unfortunately, they can’t use the chair.

In the afternoon I give our book keeper, Linda some groceries to take home and ask her if she could use the chair. “No thanks, but I have a friend who would really love it.” Within a few hours my precious table and chair have found new homes and it was almost as if they were waiting for them.
