Who Cares about Heirlooms?

Feb. 6th.

This is the e-mail I received today from Erin, my new niece by marriage to my nephew Adam.

“Hi Marlene,
Thank you soooooooooooooo much for all the stuff from your parents. I read your letter out loud to Adam and it brought a lot of tears to my eyes. Actually now that I think about it my eyes are getting a little teary. I’m going place the brass candlesticks you sent on our dining room table just like your mom did. I wish I could have met them. That’s when I start to cry, when I think about them. I wish they could have been at our wedding. Anyway Adam loved the pipe and the picture is going up this weekend. Thank you for giving that stuff to us. It really, really meant a lot.”
Love,
Erin

And to think I was wondering if they would want or appreciate those family heirlooms.
