Daily Balance

Daily Balance

May 1st.

I’m learning to find balance by watching myself as I go about my day, recognizing some of my ingrained behaviors. Small changes make a big difference. I find that just fifteen minutes of gentle morning Yoga, followed by a healthy breakfast sets the tone for the entire day. Allowing myself to take a break after a few hours of work and eating healthfully throughout the day reduce my stress level. A thirty minute walk brings clarity while evening meditation calms my mind. I’m not consistent yet with my new behaviors, but eventually they will become better habits. I already find that I am reaching less often for a surgery or high carb snack for a rush that later sends me crashing.

Most of all I’m connecting more to how I feel. Allowing those feelings to surface, sometimes boil over leaving me wasted, but still doing my best to acknowledge them and to let them go.

Finding balance is an inside job. Take the first step and become aware of something you do habitually, that could be handled in a more positive way. Each small step will begin to make changes that will ultimately change your life for the better. Its working for me and it will work for you too.
