Feeling Acknowledged

May 10^th.

I just got an e-mail for my older step-daughter. It was brief but it meant a lot to me. She thanked me and expressed her heartfelt love across the miles from NYC to CA. I felt recognition for all the years of happiness and adversity we experienced.  She is an adult now and we don’t see each other much but there is a bond that cannot be broken. There are scores of memories that cannot be forgotten, and a mutual love that will always remain. I feel grateful.
