Finding Beauty Everywhere

Here’s something to Feel Good About Today…

My office/studio space looks out on a small terrace. Through sliding glass doors I can see a piece of the sky and some lush tree branches. Two birds came to rest amidst the green foliage today. The first landed on my terrace railing, the second on the branch above. A moment later they were both perched on the same branch and I had the perfect view.

I allowed myself a few minutes to watch them then took a chance by stepping onto the terrace to get an even closer look. I thought they might fly away but they stayed, fluffing their feathers and grooming each other as if unaware of my presence.

It was one of those magical moments that happens when you least expect it. There is so much natural beauty surrounding us. Sometimes we have to look for it, other times it finds us.

The next time you take a walk, a bike ride of go for a jog, look around you. The grass will seem greener. Perhaps you’ll notice the amazingly diversity of leaves. Depending upon the time of day, the light casts varying length shadows. If you’re lucky to pass a flower, stop and savor its scent.
