Health IssuesSeems the gluten intolerance has lowered my immune system and created havoc in my body. Parasites, bacteria and Candida are all having a party at my expense. I’ve been healthy all my life or so I thought, but now I realize I’ve had issues all my life due to my sensitivity to gluten. One little protein can create so much damage and so many people are not even aware of it. I’d love to be a spokesperson on the behalf of educating others on the signs and symptoms and encourage everyone to be tested. 3 comments to Health Issues |

Hello Marlene,
I am new to Twitter and your comment left for me today has been the only one that dealt with MY life issues. The others were vacuuous comments like those I left at first.
I have had cancer and I am always dealing with digestive problems. Gluten comes from grain, correct? It is, in essence, flour. It is a carbohydrate not a protein. I am trying to understand how gluten can cause such a problem. If I had to eat only protein as in meat, I am afraid I would not be able to handle it. The colon cancer has left me guessing and making stabs in the dark about what to eat. I have to build up my blood. As low as I am in iron, I naturally have absolutely no energy. I am taking Vit B12 shots to support making more red blood cells. It is a slow process and I am not sure I am doing everything I need to do.
Any suggestions?
Thank you, Marlene for your ideas and thoughts on good living. Martigo
HI Martigo, good to hear from you sorry to hear about your struggle. I am not a Dr. All I can tell you is what I have come to learn lately and read about as a result of my health challenges.
I too have anemia an a weakened immune system.
Gluten is in fact a protein. It is found in wheat, barley, rye and oats that are processed in a plant that makes wheat related products. It is hidden in so many foods that only products that say gluten free are devoid of it other than ofcouse whole foods, fruits and vegetables which are naturally gluten free. There are so many books now on this and the internet provides alot of info for you to read about.
For those of us who are gluten sensitive and never knew it, it creates havoc on the body and many ailments go undiagnosed or misdiagnosed due to ignorance in the medical profession.
I took a test by a company called Enterolab, it cost $99.00 and they sent me a container in which I mailed back a stool sample. In about 2-3 weeks they sent my results via e-mail.
I would never have known about this if I had not found a wonderful Dr. who is aware. Her name is Deborah Metzger and she is in Los Altos Ca.
Since then I have changed my diet, dropped 12 pounds and added alot of supplements to my diet. I hope that helps you somewhat.
I wish you all the best and again this just my experience that I am sharing, in the hope it may help and inform others.
All the best to you and take good care of yourself. Here is a prayer and a hug. With love and light, Marlene
