It’s hard not to take personally someone else’s actions, responses and behaviors when they directly affect me. Intimacy is a tricky thing. For some of us it’s easier than for others. I’m doing my best to be transparent and authentic in all my relationships. I have to remember that while this is difficult for me, it may be very painful and stressful for someone else to feel that vulnerable. Allowing them space and understanding what they need to feel safe, helps me to realize it’s only about me if I make it that way.
