The Power of Gratitude

Here’s Something to Feel Good About Today…

Feeling down today I rewound my thoughts. Media events including the passing of Farrah Faucett and the sudden death of Michael Jackson along with the state of the economy and the sparse job market all triggered my downward spiral. On a long walk to clear my head, I decided to think only positive thoughts and within a few minutes felt a lot better!

Knowing I can’t change any of these events I let them all go, along with any ideas that fed into this negative thought pattern. Instead I began to think of anything I could that would help me to feel better instantly.

I saw both these people as having had extraordinary lives that touched millions. I prayed that while this is a difficult time economically, it is the beginning of a global turn around for the better. I appreciated that while the job market is lousy I have two interviews for next week.

Whatever is going on we have an opportunity to switch our thinking to seeing something positive regardless of how things appear to be. Gratitude is one of the fastest was I know to point us back in the direction of hope.
