Relationships Are Worth The Risk

Here’s Something to Feel Good About Today…

Relationships can be tricky. When we open our hearts to someone we become vulnerable, trusting the delicate, exposed soft parts of ourselves risks being rejected or hurt.

I don’t trust easily but when I do, I give my all. In fact there is nothing I would not do to be there for someone I care for. There have been times though when I have given my heart and it has been broken. That sense of betrayal cuts like a knife and causes me to question my judgment and whether it was worth the risk. Here’s what I know to be true.

People do the best they can with who they are and what they have to give. Sometimes they are damaged and their best efforts hurt others despite their best intentions. I’m sure I’ve hurt people in my life without intending to, and I know others have hurt me. Still loving and risking makes life worthwhile, where would we be without our relationships?
