Doing The Best I Can

Marlene’s Mid-Life Diary

I’m overwhelmed today by all the tasks I have on my plate and worse stil,l I’m feeling guilty for not doing my blog everyday without fail. It makes me feel like I am falling behind.

Then I look at the fact that no one really cares, these are self imposed guidelines that I have set, that set me up to fail and give me a reason to feel bad. I’m not perfect and somedays I just don’t accomplish as much as others. All I can do is the best I can and know that’s good enough!

  1. Marlene, you are so right. These are self-imposed rules that set us up for disappointment sometimes. I do the same thing with my blogs. I even coined a phrase for when I miss blogging, “bloglinkwent”. LOL. I aim for the goal of everyday but now I leave myself a little room to skip when necessary. We are good at showing grace toward others but hard on ourselves. We are people too. It’s time to show ourselves some grace. :>) Nice post.
