No Judgements

Here’s Something To Feel Good About Today…

I have to admit that like so many millions of people I am still intrigued by the late Michael Jackson. His mega talent was truly awesome; his eccentricities have perhaps never been rivaled.

Shortly after his passing I was watching actress Jane Fonda speak on television about her friend. Her words struck me; they went something like this, “Who knows what he felt inside or what he went through in his life. Who are we to judge him?”

It’s so true. So often I have passed judgment on people, based upon what appears to be true. Yet in reality I have no idea what the reality is for them. I never grew up in the spotlight, I never had an abusive father, I never possessed that kind of energy and gifted talent as an entertainer. Unless I could walk in his shoes I have no idea what his life experience was like.

When was the last time you judged someone? Try stepping out of your skin and into theirs. See if you can feel what it might be like to be them, to have their past or to be living in their present. You just might see them from a very different perspective and in the process find compassion within yourself.
