Stuffing Feelings

Here’s Something To Feel Good About Today…

I suffer occasionally from migraine headaches. They used to be more frequent but with proper diet, prescribed nutritional supplement and exercise they have lessened. Still when I have one I am totally incapacitated.

My friend called today and when I told her I slept most of the weekend she asked “So what’s going on with you?” She told me that sinus attacks, head colds and migraines all have to do with too much thinking and not enough feeling. She suggested I feel my emotions, all of them and stop stuffing.

We chatted for awhile and I shared some of the issues that were troubling me. I hadn’t realized that I was avoiding dealing with my feelings. It made me think of all the diseases created by holding that kind of tension in our body, and how important it is to identify them and work them through.

So what about you? Where do you hold your unresolved feelings? Do you suffer from headaches, back pain, or perhaps stomach ailments? Wherever it may be, begin today to let those feelings surface. Pound your pillow, take a hike or talk it out with a friend. The first step is to recognize what you are holding, the next is to feel all those jumbled emotions, and then start letting them go. That way there is only room for the “good stuff.”
