Mastering Mind

Here’s Something To Feel Good About Today!

"Be Master of mind tahter than mastered by mind." Zen Proverb There are many ways to quiet the mind; meditation, long walks outdoors and doing something you love to do, are all ways to bring you out of your head, allowing you to feel more deeply with your heart.

When my thoughts are in control, my behaviors become out of control. I find myself doing too much, feeling driven and losing my peace of mind. I call it “spinning” and while I may not always know how I get into that unsettled state, I do know how to stop my inner craziness and reclaim my serenity.

Letting go of all my thoughts, taking no actions and allowing myself a little quiet space, creates the sacred space that I need to master my mind. I once thought it was a luxury to take “time out,” now I know how vitally important it is to my overall health and well being.

“Be master of mind rather than mastered by mind.”
Zen Proverb

A peaceful spirit requires a balance between your mind, body and spirit. You deserve and owe it to yourself to slow down. Take the time to quiet your thoughts allow the voice of your own inner wisdom to be heard. Relax, breathe and watch those scattered thoughts drift away. What ways have you found to master your mind?
