Mothers & Daughters Raising Each Other

Here’s Something To Feel Good About Today!

“The moment a child is born, the mother is also born. She never existed before. The woman existed, but the mother, never. A mother is something absolutely new.” ~Rajneesh

The Beginning of Motherhood For Me

Until children came into my own life, I never understood the complicated, entangled and sometimes excruciatingly difficult role of being a mom. I was a daughter, a sister, an aunt and a friend, but becoming a step-mom to two young girls expanded my capacity to love others.

As the years past, I like to think that I have grown to become a more understanding and tolerant person. I hope that I am less self-righteous, a better listener and a more empathetic friend. I owe a lot of my inner transforming to the challenges I have faced as a blended family and my willingness to learn through each of them by seeing the part that I play in the dynamics.

Every mother daughter relationship is complex. If we are aware, we can open ourselves to learn by understanding that it takes two to play the game. The struggles and the letting go are all a part of the growth and healing we do together. The joy comes when you are willing to open your heart more despite your differences and love one another unconditionally.

Want to share a little about your mother or your daughter; I would love to hear from you.
