Practice Daily Gratitude

Here’s Something To Feel Good About Today!

“You simply will not be the same person two months from now after consciously giving thanks each day for the abundance that exists in your life. And you will have set in motion an ancient spiritual law: the more you have and are grateful for, the more will be given you.” Sarah Ban Breathnach

Today was one of those days when everything bothered me. I was frustrated and angry when I began to complain to my husband. “Why don’t you think about what there is to feel grateful for today, I think you might be a lot happier,” he said. I thanked him for reminding me, without realizing it I had tied myself in a knot because of my ingratitude.

No one has a perfect life. We can all look for and find flaws in circumstances and situations to make us unhappy. Seeing what we lack entangles negative thoughts until they bind us. One sure way to loosen them is to change perspective and find what there is to be grateful for. When we do, it’s amazing how much lighter and happier we can feel.

When you find yourself complaining or listening to someone else’s negativity it’s time to change the conversation. Talk about what you are grateful for and watch the dialogue shift in a positive direction. Think about it and will you share what’s on your gratitude list today?
