Family and Friends Give Love and Support

Here’s Something To Feel Good About Today!

“Family, a group experience of love and support.” Marianne Williamson

If you want to be humbled and awestruck at the same time, visit a redwood forest.

My visit to Muir Woods in Northern California was as much a holy experience as it was an education about living. I stood amidst these majestic wonders, sunlight streaming through branches, the smell of primordial earth beneath my feet, ferns silencing my footsteps, and I was at peace. The forest reminded me on a soul level, that we are all a part of this continuing and inevitable cycle of life.

I listened as a guide explained that redwoods grow in clusters, “family groups” with shallow but much interconnected root systems. This is how each tree is able to grow to such amazing heights. It’s essential to the survival of the forest that each tree stands within the circle to support the others.

As she spoke I realized how similar people are to redwoods. Creating a supportive network is vital to thriving. You may have been lucky to be born with a great support system, or you may need to create one. The important thing is that you never underestimate the value of being part of a circle that keeps you strong and reaching for the sky.
