Gratitude For Dogs and Cats

“Here’s Something To Feel Good About!”

“Until one has loved an animal, a part of one’s soul remains unawakened.” Anatole France

When I was a child my dad told me I had “animal blood.” It seemed that all kinds of stray animals were attracted to me, and as a result, we always had a family pet in our house.

Throughout my life, I have had my share of both dogs and cats and because humans are destined to outlive them, I have had my share of heartache and heartbreak when they pass on…Still I would not trade any of my animal experiences for anything. To me a home is not complete without beloved animals… Thankfully my husband feels the same way.

Today I have several cats and when anyone asks me why I have more than one, I simply smile because I know anyone who asks that question just doesn’t know the joy that animals add to our lives when we allow them into our hearts.

If you want to share a PawPrints story about an animal that has enriched your life. Please read our story guidelines and send it to me handprintsstories@gmail.com. If it’s approved, I would love to share it with others on our website and later in a PawPrints On My Heart book.
