I am one of those people who can push herself too hard. At times I have to force myself to just stop and take a break. If you are like me, this post is for you.
My friend Colleen once worked with a brilliant scientist who liked to say, “Rest is productive. Exhaustion is counter-productive.” Two of his other favorite sayings were, “Play is restorative,” and “Moderation in all things.”
Next time you find yourself pushing to hard, take a few moments to breathe, go for a walk, have a cup of tea. Down time is never wasted, it’s essential for your good health and happiness.
