Here’s Something New to Feel Good About Today!

“A House is not a home, without a pet.” Anonymous

Not everyone has a pet, but we can all appreciate the joy they bring into our lives, especially during the holiday season. If you have an animal consider dressing it in something festive; a santa cap, deer antlers, or elf ears. It may sound silly but it marks the beginning of the season and promotes a lot of laughter, especially when you attach a couple of jingling bells!

I once had a Yorkshire Terrier named Sasha and every year I practiced the same ritual. I dressed my 4 pound dog in a tiny Santa Suit. I can still picture her patiently posed for photos, propped on our velvet couch not knowing how adorable she looked. I lived in NYC at the time and loved seeing the grins flash across the faces of the doormen and neighbors as we walked past them. Sasha never knew what all the attention was about, but I’m sure she felt the love and so did everyone else.

As the holiday season begins, do what you can to spread a little cheer. It might be as simple as focusing a little extra attention on your beloved pet, or acknowledging someone else who does.
