Stay Sane Reduce Holiday Stress: Pass-Along Tip #6

Find Something New to Feel Good About Today!

A friendship can weather most things and thrive in thin soil; but it needs a little mulch of letters and phone calls and small, silly presents every so often – just to save it from drying out completely.
Pam Brown

Are you sharing this season’s joy as well as it’s challenges with a friend who really cares about you? If not, why not?

The holidays stir up all sorts of feelings for me. I am blessed to have several close friends to share them with. I rely on each of them to listen and support me; Heather to offer hope, Shelley to always care and Sandy for spiritual insight. My best friends don’t give advice unless asked, they simply allow me the space to be free to be myself. There is nothing we can’t solve; we share each other’s pain as we laugh our way back to sanity together.

If you are feeling holiday stress, pick up the phone and call your girlfriend. Meet her for tea, cappuccino, or hot chocolate. Invite her for a glass of wine. Real friends will be there when you need them, but only if you reach out to them, and give back the same loving attention, in return. It doesn’t take much, offer a card in appreciation or a gift from your heart, simply remember to show them how much you care.

My passion has always been storytelling whether that involves writing or imagery. Following this passion, I built a 20-year career licensing my unique hand painted illustrations and product designs to renowned companies in the gift, paper, and home décor categories. My clients include Waterford Wedgwood, Tiffany & Co., George Caspari, Shurman Fine Papers, Block China, Simon & Schuster, Random House, Cartier, Shaw Living, Stephen Lawrence, and many more. Now, my passion has taken me to blogging, compiling, and sharing stories of people who in their own small way have made a difference in someone’s life; stories that have the amazing ability to reawaken our senses to experience everything that is and can be good in the world and connect us with each other.
