Gripped by Holiday Madness, Girlfriends Hold Our Hearts!

Here’s Something New to Feel Good About Today!

“Each friend represents a world in us, a world possibly not born until they arrive, and it is only by this meeting that a new world is born.”
- Anais Nin

The holiday season can be an emotional roller coaster. One way to keep your sanity is to reach out and stay connected to your best girlfriends.

As a little girl my mom taught me to make sure to cultivate female friendships.

I remember her words, “You’ll probably get married and have children, but no matter what’s going on in your life make sure you keep your girlfriends. Your kids will grow up, you may divorce or lose your husband and your best friends will be there through it all.” As a result, I choose my female friends wisely, keep them close, and appreciate every one of them.

I have friends from as far back as 4years old; many of my closest girlfriends live 3000 miles away. Today I actively cultivate new friendships but make sure to maintain my connection to my old friends too. Each of them is irreplaceable, unique and dear to me. I don’t know what I would do without my close girlfriends so especially during the holiday season; I let them know how much they mean to me.

Having good friends is like having a personal cheering section; they support, encourage and bring out the best in us. In return they require our time and loving attention, so make a call, send a card, or set up a SKYPE date. The most important part is that when you connect, tell them how much they mean to you. Appreciation and your heartfelt words will mean everything to your friend.
