If there is one answer to the secret of finding personal happiness it could be, JUST BE YOU!
Do this simple exercise with me. Put your arms out in front of you, cross them, bring them around and give yourself a GIANT HUG! There’s one sure way to build confidence and that’s to embrace yourself fully now, no matter what shape you’re in.
Please don’t wait until you lose those extra pounds, today is the day to begin. Love every part, including the jiggly parts and the less than perfect blemishes that make you who you are. Every bit of you deserves your loving attention and care. If you want to reduce stress and live a longer, happier life, stop using harsh words of criticism that pull you down, forgive yourself completely for everything past and accept yourself just as you in this beautiful day. This day and the body you’re in are all that you have. Enjoy them.
I’ve struggled all my life with not feeling “good enough.” Now when I look at pictures of myself from 10 years ago realize I was pretty attractive, and wonder why I didn’t appreciate myself more at the time. I’m not going to let the next years of my life pass me by with thoughts that make me feel less then. Sure like most of us, I have a few extra pounds to lose but the reality is I’m not twenty or thirty and I will most likely never have a flat stomach. What I do have that is far more important than a perfect body is an appreciation for many of the unique and wonderful parts of me. I am confident that I am a loving person with a good sense of humor, and a compassionate heart. That’s something I can always hold onto with pride.
Take a good long look in the mirror, who do you see? If the person looking back at you isn’t filled with a joy for life then you probably have some work to do. Not on your physical shape but on your mental attitude. You have special gifts to share with the world. Focus on what you have to give and let go of the rest. I know 100 pound women who drive themselves hard and are never content and 300 pound women who feel happy and fulfilled. Yes we all need to do physical exercise, to maintain great health but more important we need to find ways to love and appreciate ourselves more.
