Know Yourself, Believe In Yourself

Know Yourself, Believe In Yourself

Here’s Something New To Feel Good About Today!

“Your chances of success in any undertaking can always be measured by your belief in yourself.”
~Robert Collier

“We are each gifted in a unique and important way. It is our privilege and our adventure to discover our own special light.”
~Mary Dunbar

“When people believe in themselves they have the first secret of success.”
~Norman Vincent Peale

You probably recognize the celebrity face of Queen Latifah a truly outstanding talent in the world of show business. You have to respect a woman who has the self-confidence to call herself a Queen. What if for today you called yourself Queen————————? Would you actually feel like a queen or is something missing? The truth is we all have that right if only we will claim our crowns.

Here’s a woman who clearly does not let extra pounds, or anything else stop her from knowing herself and achieving greatness. The one quality we can be sure she possesses is self-esteem. She may be terrified inside, but regardless we will never know that. She presents herself with the utmost confidence and all those who watch her believe that it’s true.

I admire women like Queen Latifah, Oprah Winfrey, and Jane Fonda. Not just because of what they have accomplished and they have all achieved world wide acclaim, but for their vulnerability and authenticity. I want to be more like them because they have faced their fears and contributed something of amazing value to the world through sheer determination and perseverance. All these women and everyone who has self-confidence earns it and deserves to feel great about themselves.

For me, self-confidence is something I appear to have and in the past I have been good at faking. Now I know there’s a lot more to it than “acting as if.” Really confident people, the ones who know who they are and value their own self-worth, are magnets to the rest of us. We are attracted to their powerful energy and want to be near them and like them.

I have read many biographies about such people, because I want to have what they have. What I’ve learned is that none of them were born with confidence. They all had to discover themselves and work hard to hone their unique talents. It’s this process that developed their self-esteem and through those challenges they became who they are today.

Throughout time famous people who have achieved remarkable things have all had one thing in common. They totally believed in themselves and despite times of self-doubt, they never gave up on what they were passionate about. If you and I develop those traits we too will build our sense of self worth.

The question is what is your heart’s desire, or passion? Whatever you take a stand for can make a difference if only for one other person. Let’s share our process of self discovery and help each other to believe in ourselves and each other as we grow our self-confidence.
