Process and Compensation

Please know that we never publish anything without written permission from the author. The copyright to your story belongs to you, and if published you will be given credit for your story. Since we know how frustrating it is to make creative submissions and be left in the dark, we will keep you informed as to the status of your story and its possible publication.

Process:
When you submit your story through our website “For Publication”, you will receive immediate notification that we have received it. The message says, “Thank You for your Submission.” If we wish to post your story on our website you will be notified and sent a simple OK to Post agreement to be filled out and emailed back to us.

The HandPrints community is unusual in that we will do everything we can to help you to promote your work, find tools and opportunities to build a platform to grow your fan base and with time, add incremental income.

If chosen for the Web, your story will be published along with your bio, photos, and links to your website, blog, other writing and even to your sales page and bio on Amazon or Barnes and Nobel. Your information will be available and easily searchable on handprintsonmyheart.com. There is currently no payment for stories we publish on our website since we are using the site to grow the community and awareness of the HandPrints brand.

Note: You can enhance your stories on the web by adding video or audio.

Any series, Print or E-book for which you are chosen will include your picture, contact information and links to the content you want found. If you story is chosen for the e-book series, the author’s share of the revenue will be 25% after expenses.

If you story is chosen for the Print series, you will be paid a fee comparable to other established anthology book series and you will be paid upon publication. The exact amount will be determined with the publisher who we expect to be Hachette.

Future Income:
We are aggressively seeking ways we can add to your income and save you money. We are at the beginning so please be patient. We are interested in any suggestions you have so send them to handprintsstories@gmail.com. However, as our technology becomes more sophisticated, we hope to implement a payment structure giving viewers the ability to “$gift” you in specific amounts if they like your story. You will need to be a member of Paypal to participate in this program. There are several other options we are seeking to develop to compensate storytellers for their creativity.
