Practice Daily Gratitude
Here’s Something To Feel Good About Today!
“You simply will not be the same person two months from now after consciously giving thanks each day for the abundance that exists in your life. And you will have set in motion an ancient spiritual law: the more you have and are grateful for, the more will be given you.” Sarah Ban Breathnach
Try this experiment. The next time you are feeling irritated, angry or unhappy, stop your thoughts. Clear your mind and write down six things you are grateful for. I promise you will experience a positive shift soon as you begin to say Thank You!
Today was one of those days when everything bothered me. I was frustrated and angry when I began to complain to my husband.
“Why don’t you think about what there is to feel grateful for today, I think you might be a lot happier,” he said. I thanked him for reminding me, without realizing it I had tied myself in a knot because of my ingratitude.
No one has a perfect life. We can all look for and find flaws in circumstances and situations to make us unhappy. Whenever I focus on a sense of lack and limitation rather than abundance and possibility, I find myself in a downward spiral of negative thoughts. Soon as I change my perspective it’s amazing how much lighter and happier I feel. My circumstances may not change at all but my viewpoint makes all the difference.
When you find yourself complaining or listening to someone else’s negativity it’s time to change the conversation. Talk about what you are grateful for and watch the dialogue shift in a positive direction. What’s on your gratitude list today?
